The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) recently released new guidance on How to determine when a plant-derived ingredient requires a feed pre-market assessment. Rendering plants holding a permit under the authority of the Health of Animals Regulations have until June 14, 2024 to submit their online questionnaire for the Establishment-based Risk Assessment model for renderers (ERA-Renderer model). All permitted rendering plants should have received an email from the CFIA with information on how to complete and submit the questionnaire.
