The tenth and final module of the Canadian Feed Industry Education Program (CFIEP) is now available! Module 10: Management of a feed mill provides valuable insights into the effective management of feed mill operations.  

Registration is open for the CFIEP fall semester, running from September 7 to December 13. Students can enroll in Modules 1 through 8 and Module 10 until November 29. For Module 9, the next one and a half day workshop will take place in 2027, with dates to be confirmed.

The Canadian Feed Industry Education Program consists of nine online learning modules and one in-person hands-on module. To earn the CFIEP program certificate, participants must successfully complete Module 1 to 8 and Module 10 and obtain record or certificate of completion for each of these modules.

Strong management practices contribute to productivity, profitability and high-quality standards. Feed mill managers must balance operational efficiency, ingredient procurement, human resources and investment decisions while meeting the demands of a competitive and regulated market.

This month, ANAC welcomed the second cohort of learners to the Canadian Feed Industry Education Program (CFIEP)’s Module 9: Hands-on workshop at the Canadian Feed Research Centre (CFRC).  

ANAC’s 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Convention was a great success, bringing together feed industry leaders from across Canada and recognizing their achievements. Attendees established new business relationships, reflected on the industry’s accomplishments and gained valuable takeaways from thought-provoking presentations. 

Following a $29.2 million investment from the Government of Canada, new opportunities are available for businesses through Talent Innovation Canada (TICAN). TICAN is a new, industry-led, national not-for-profit organization that will connect top research and development (R&D) talent from Canadian universities with innovative companies.  

From May 5 to 7, more than 300 participants gathered in Edmonton, Alberta for the 10th anniversary of the Animal Nutrition Conference of Canada (ANCC). As in previous years, this event brought together feed industry professionals, government representatives, researchers, and students from across Canada and around the world to explore the latest developments in livestock nutrition.
