The CFIA updated their Feed Label Verification Tool, which is used by CFIA inspectors to verify that the nutrient levels in feeds do not surpass the maximums as per the Tables of Maximum Nutrient Values for Feeds.

On July 20, President Trump signed three proclamations imposing a 50% tariff on select Canadian goods imported into the United States (US). This new tariff is scheduled to take effect August 19, 2026. This action was taken to address perceived discriminatory practices by Canada in the trade of motor vehicles, alcoholic beverages and dairy products.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is currently consulting on proposed regulatory changes that would impact what can be included in prohibited material (PM) used in livestock feeds. We ask that you also share any concerns with ANAC by emailing Melissa Dumont at mdumont@anacan.org before September 1. 

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has negotiated a revised export certificate for milk and milk products intended for animal consumption to Brazil. The certificate is available through your local CFIA office.
