Canada removes many tariffs on US goods

Today, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced the removal of retaliatory Canadian tariffs on goods from the United States (US) that are compliant with the Canada-US-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA). This decision will take effect on September 1, 2025. Carney stated that this action will re-establish free trade on the vast majority of goods traded between Canada and the US.
