Reporting on PFAS due January 29

Last July, the Notice with respect to certain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) was published under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act in the Canada Gazette, Part I requiring entities to report if they manufactured, imported and/or used substances or products containing certain PFAS during the 2023 calendar year. The reporting deadline is January 29.

New guidance on reporting to the Federal Plastics Registry

Companies are required to submit data to the Federal Plastics Registry (FPR) on the quantity and types of plastic they put on the Canadian market. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) recently published the Guide for Reporting to the Federal Plastics Registry – Phase 1 to support stakeholders in meeting their reporting requirements.

Proposed amendments to Accessible Canada Regulations set requirements for digital technologies

In December, the Government of Canada published proposed amendments to the Accessible Canada Regulations (ACRs) in Canada Gazette, Part I (CGI). These amendments would introduce a new part titled “Information and Communication Technologies” that would set out new requirements for both public and private sector federally regulated organizations, (including feed mills).
