ANAC’s Feeds Regulations 2024 Transition Guide (a summary of the major changes arising from the updated regulations) has been updated to bring the references in line with the final version of the regulations published in Canada Gazette, Part II.

ANAC is thrilled to announce that after 14 years of hard work and advocacy, the Feeds Regulations, 2024 were published in Canada Gazette, Part II today.

Veterinary health products (VHPs) can now be notified through Health Canada for in-feed use. As a new allowance under the Feeds Regulations, 2024, notified in-feed VHPs can now be mixed in livestock feeds once they have been added to the Compendium of Non-Feed Product Brochures.

ANAC is thrilled to announce that after 14 years of hard work and advocacy, the Feeds Regulations, 2024 have been approved by the Governor General and are scheduled to be published on July 3, 2024.

Government’s Bill C-58, banning the use of replacement workers in federally regulated industries (including feed mills) during a legal strike or lockout, unanimously passed third reading in the House of Commons on May 27. It has since progressed through the Senate and received royal assent (the last stage in a bill becoming law) on June 20.

Companies will soon be required to submit data to the Federal Plastics Registry on the quantity and types of plastic they put on the Canadian market.

On December 15, 2022, the CFIA replaced the Automated Shipment Inspection Status Search Tool (ASISST) with an enhanced tool that provides access to the status of any food, plant or animal import declared electronically to the CFIA called the CFIA Shipment Tracker for Food, Plant and Animal products.
