The Canadian Cattle Association (CCA) has asked ANAC to share that the Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Beef Cattle has been updated and is now available for public comment.

Canada’s 2,800+ chicken farmers are required to be certified on the Raised by a Canadian Farmer Animal Care Program and On-Farm Food Safety Program, as developed by Chicken Farmers of Canada; the programs are mandatory in all 10 provinces.
Industry advisors, including nutritionists, may have recommendations and advice for farmers on best management practices. While knowledge sharing is needed and encouraged throughout the sector, recommendations must always meet the Animal Care Program requirements at a minimum.
