Brett Stuart – President, Global AgriTrends
Brett Stuart is the President of Global AgriTrends. The firm was founded in 2006 and provides global market research, analysis and forecasting to a variety of domestic and international clients. His work has taken him to six continents researching the global meat and livestock markets. He now advises companies around the world on global agriculture trends. Brett formerly worked for the U.S. Meat Export Federation, Cattle Fax, and AgReserves, Inc.
Brett was raised on a cattle ranch operating in Utah and Wyoming. He received an undergraduate degree in accounting at Utah State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Nebraska. He and his wife Amanda live with their kids on a farm near Preston, Idaho.
Steve Leech – Director of Food Safety and Animal Health, Chicken Farmers of Canada
Steve Leech is the Director of Food Safety and Animal Health at Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC). In this role, Steve is responsible for the Raised by a Canadian Farmer On-Farm Food Safety Program and works closely with provincial boards, industry stakeholders and the CFC Production Committee.
Steve has been with CFC for over 20 years and has advocated for chicken farmers on several industry and government committees in the areas of food safety, avian influenza, antimicrobial use and resistance, processing and biosecurity. During his tenure at CFC, Steve has been involved in the development of CFC’s antimicrobial use reduction strategy for the Canadian chicken sector and has worked with processors, retailers and restaurants to promote and get buy-in for the on-farm programs.
Steve is a graduate of the University of Guelph. He lives in Ottawa with his family and spends his winters coaching minor hockey.
Alison Porter – Vice-President of Policy, Dairy Farmers of Canada
Raised in Quebec, Alison developed an early and lasting connection to agriculture as the granddaughter of a farmer and the daughter of a veterinarian.
Alison holds a degree in agricultural economics from McGill University and furthered her experiences through study and work in Germany. After working at Lactanet and the Canadian Dairy Commission, she held senior leadership roles serving two Ministers of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. She currently holds the role of Vice-President of Policy at Dairy Farmers of Canada, where she continues to champion policies that strengthen Canada’s dairy sector and the farm families behind it.
Ashley Bruner – Director of Research and Stakeholder Engagement, Canadian Centre for Food Integrity
Ashley Bruner is the Director of Research and Stakeholder Engagement at the Canadian Centre for Food Integrity (CCFI), where she brings data to life and helps Canada’s food sector connect with Canadians on the issues that matter most. With over a decade of research and policy experience, she specializes in translating public opinion into meaningful insights that inspire action. Before joining CCFI, Ashley was a Senior Research Manager at Ipsos Public Affairs, where she led hundreds of projects for clients across the public, private, and non-profit sectors. She holds a Master of Public Policy from Simon Fraser University.
For the past five years at CCFI, Ashley has been a driving force behind building public trust in food. Her sharp eye for detail and deep passion for the food system shine through in every insight she shares.
