Course Description
A well designed, documented and implemented FeedAssure® feed safety plan is a systematic approach based on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles which becomes a powerful tool to ensure a safe feed supply.
This four-part training series will focus on the methodology of feed safety hazard identification and risk assessment used in the development of FeedAssure® feed safety plan. The content of this course has been updated to reflect v.4 2022 of the FeedAssure® program. This interactive introductory course will be offered as a series of training sessions over four half days from 1-5 pm EDT, two times a year:
- Fall session: September 24, 25 and October 1 and 2
At the end of the training, you will be able to:
- describe feed safety hazards
- conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis
- understand the FeedAssure® Prerequisite Programs (PRPs)
- take steps to create a FeedAssure® compliant feed safety plan
Registration
All participants must register. A dedicated computer is required per registration (i.e. this course cannot be taken in groups). A minimum of 15 participants is required to run this course. The maximum of participants is 25 so register early to reserve your place.

Training is being delivered by NSF Canada. ANAC will be sharing registrant contact information with the training organization in order for webinar details to be forwarded and course certificates to be issued. The following are some of the general NSF policies and expectations.

Criteria for Successful Completion
NSF Training & Education Services (TES) issues a Certificate of Accomplishment for successful completion of all learning event criteria including:
- sign-in at the commencement of the learning event
- 90% attendance in all sessions
- full participation in (and satisfactory completion of) all related program activities, including group activities, required assignments and relevant assessments
TES does not issue Certificates of Attendance per our accreditation policies. All success criteria must be met in order to receive a Certificate of Accomplishment.
Request for Official Learner Record
An Official Learner Record is a complete record of your satisfactory completion of learning events. A $20 fee for each copy requested will be charged (plus applicable courier fees). Requests can be made in writing to NSF Training & Education Services at nsflearn@nsf.org.
Instructional Techniques and Methods
A variety of instructional techniques and methods may be used throughout the program, including lecture, large and small group discussion, simulation, skills demonstration, case studies, handouts, instructional DVD, question and answer periods, pre- and post-testing, quizzes.
